I have made hossomaki before, but it’s my first time making all that. I wanted to make this as a treat to myself after working a lot, but I didn’t expect it was going to be much more work lol. At least everything was delicious.

Ugly does not equal not tasty!

That looks pretty good compared to a lot of the other first attempts I’ve seen here. Some of the rice looks heavy in parts, but I’d dive into that plate!

What’s the fill in the rolls on the lower right? Looks so odd it’s gotta be good!

Nigiri looks great! Kindly lessen the rice next time and focus more on nigiri.

Try octopus, squid and ebi (shrimp) nigiri next please!

From an acorn, the mighty oak tree grows !!

I’d destroy that so fast. Minus the sashimi but that’s a “me” issue. But that nigiri is calling me.

Dude I would demolish this. The reason why you think they are ugly is that they aren’t as colorful as restaurant ones.
You just need to widen your ingredient range. Some fruits or vegetables like avocado, carrot, cucumber or mango would go a long way. Still amazing looking.
