
I’ve been to all the big places in the Austin area, Leroy and Lewis, Interstellar, Terry Black’s, Mum Foods… and Franklin’s takes the cake. We skipped the sides because they’re super basic, but the meats were the best I’ve ever had. Truly nothing compares to this experience.

Damn. Someone meant business. Having first pick of everything on the menu must’ve been like a dream. A dream that ended in getting stuffed with award winning BBQ.

I’ve had a lot of bbq and am in the business. The first bite of Franklin’s brisket was one of the few times I’ve had the “I get it” moment. All the awards, write-ups, etc, 100% get it. Truly spectacular. I’m not sure you can do it better following a bbq 2.0 model of S&P, Post Oak on an offset.
I’ve seen where people bad mouth this place because of the sides, or because of the line. Those people can’t seem to differentiate between what Franklin’s is and what they want it to be. Aaron is not trying to out do the rest with a variety of new sides or concepts and the fact of the matter is you’re in line because you were curious enough to get in it. If you want chefy go to Leeroy & Lewis and if you want fast quality bbq at 5pm, go to Terry Blacks
