Last time I went I paid what it would cost to get three steaks, New York strip. It was entirely gristle. I asked for a new steak, they brought out my second steak and it was super salty and cooked well done. Never again, I’ll eat steak at home.

Food’s pretty decent, but they’re famous in the restaurant industry for treating their staff like shit which is pretty impressive in an industry that treats its staff like shit in general.

  3. IloveCars41

I disagree.. you can make better steak at home for less.

Never had a good steak there only had horrible ones

So I bought into the hype. I was craving prime rib. Came out and looked good. BUT. The underside was grey. So basically they took a cold piece of prime rib, slapped it on the grill to warm it up and then plated it. I would have sent it back but my father in law was already complaining to them that his ribs were cold. So I just ate it.

I think it’s appropriately rated. Not blown away by them, but also not terrible. Those rolls are the shit though.

They used to be good. Then they stopped seasoning the steaks with a heavy hand and it sucked.

Just had the ribeye last night. The char is okay, it just didn’t taste seasoned at all. For the minor price hike I’d much rather go to Longhorn. Texas Roadhouse sides are fire though for the most part.

I read an article within the past year or so where they ranked it number one against other low tier chain steakhouses.

I hear about it all the time on Reddit. I think it’s considered one of the best sit down chain restaurants. Never been but the rolls sound delicious.

Depends on location because around Denver they suck.

Its the redlobster of steaks. Nothing more. A place you go every few years and you run in to small town folks coming to the city for a steak dinner. 😆 Go to a steak house for a proper steak dinner. Unfortunately, in today’s world, we celebrate mediocrity. But, lI suppose a good value compared to others.

As far as chains go I’d say extremely overrated. Longhorn on the other hand is very underrated. I enjoy longhorn more than some nice steakhouses I’ve been to.

We agree, went there New Year’s Eve and the service was just as good as the food

Damn bro.. now you got me wanting to go and spend money I shouldn’t..

Long horn is Better. Texas road house is hit or miss

  17. Feature-One

Loaded with roaches but food is great

  18. ChumBucketformuoly

Texas Roadhouse is great! For the price you get a quality steak.

  19. DragonfruitVisible18

For 20 to 30 bucks a plate they cook a good steak, no complaints

It’s one of two restaurants in my city I’ll order a steak from, the other is a local Mexican hole on the wall and whoever’s in the kitchen needs a raise.

I’m a fan. The rolls and butter are amazing. Always playing country music, family friendly, great value for the protein when traveling.

Can sit at the bar next to oil and gas guys wearing Rolexes or chit chat guys road tripping across the US.

Also a fan because their previous CEO during Covid had forgone his salary, somewhere around a million, to help keep employees somewhat paid and also donated $5 million to employees assistance non profit they started.

The one around here has the music volume too high for my satisfaction. I don’t like eating somewhere where I have to shout to be heard over they believe is background music.

My wife and I’s fave for a low key night out. Or even with kids

  24. 1Greghole

Wtf no. Cooking steaks at home is so much better. Waste of money.

  25. Designer_Charity_827

The atmosphere is a bit hectic, but for the price, it can’t be beat. $25 for a New York Strip and two sides. Always a perfect medium rare too.

  26. Intrepid_Attitude912

You can get a better sear on that steak at home

  27. QM_Bartlet_1515

It’s VERY location specific. Well run locations are excellent, poorly run locations are really bad.

  28. -VatoLocos-

If they would just put some damn seasoning on these steaks,…at least salt!

  29. havokk40

The food itself isn’t bad. But the noise level is bad enough that by the end of the meal you will have permanent hearing loss

  30. No-Lion-1400

For steak Longhorn is way better than Roadhouse. I stopped getting steak at Roadhouse.

  31. Mcmurphysballin

Texas road house is absolute shit. Been to 5 different ones only liked one.

  32. just left there about an hour ago, my steak was fabulous, but if i’m being honest i’m there for the rolls and ranch w a salad. steak was appropriately seasoned though/ good temp.

  33. the_original_duder

I dunno, after reading people’s comments here about it being good, went and gave it a shot.

Awful. Waste of money. I’d rather eat once at a good steakhouse than twice at TR.

My fav chain steak….actually the only chain I’ll go to lol
