These are my first ever tomato starts 🥰 I know I have to change their light and switch pots as they're getting leggy. I also know I need to thin them out but how do you know which ones to keep and when do I do that? I feel like I should keep em all 😩😢

(Ignore my chives that never came out.)

If you are super gentle you could just separate them. Then bury up to the leaves and the stem will grow roots.

  2. Tomatoes are so quick and easy to germinate successfully, I usually just plant one seed per cell. I could never cull this many seedlings! As another commenter said, you could gently try to separate them. Most people would tell you to snip all but one seedling off at the base.

You are right that you need better light. If you do end up separating instead of culling, be sure to bury them up to the leaves so they have a chance.

    IMHO ,get them
Closer to your light source , they are getting leggy . Add a small fan on low. Create a breeze for resistance training. Stout plants on your horizon .let them grow another set of leaves . They will
Recover just fine. Pro mix bx & tomato tone will be your friend
