I’ve seen some mentions of Lopez de Heredia here, but for what it’s worth, I would put them firmly in the ‘great producer, but mixed opinion on r/wine’ category. I see too many posts from people feeling underwhelmed—either tripped up by their subtlety because they are expecting the more muscular style that is typical in Rioja today, or they are not into the oxidative notes on the whites and Rose in particular.
I mean, these people are wrong, but they exist and their opinions are out there. Given that, I just don’t think you can say that LdH is universally loved (though it makes me sad that they aren’t).
