It was a little fruity and quite delicious. Hot but not unbearable. I really enjoyed it!
I asked for some raw chili from my local Indian. They gave me a load of green chillis and this one. A habanero maybe?

Looks like a red habanero. Sounds like it too by the flavor profile and heat described.

Looks like a Habanero, and you saying it tasted fruity sounds like a Habanero. The Habanero has cultivars from different regions of the world that give them slight differences in heat and flavor, so, this could be different than other habaneros you’re used to, but it’s probably a habanero. It’s probably the most popular species of pepper on earth when adding heat to stuff. When you consider that it, and I think all of the hotter peppers(ghost, chocolate, scorpion, etc) are all just selectively bred habaneros.

Looks like Scotch Bonnet to me. Not a super-hot and fruity.

It’s definitely a Scotch bonnet!

Fruity? Probably bongo pepper.
Usually a staple for Fijian Indians. It’s very much like habeneros but more fruity. It might have more acid which makes it trigger acid reflex more often for people that have it. Can say that with experience. Hence why I prefer habeneros over them.

Looks to be some kind of pepper, which is a kind of fruit.

Nope that’s not a habanero, they usually have more rolls and texturing to their shape and tend to be more yellow or orange not red
Try eating a habanero now and compare
