Oven-Baked Whole Tilapia with Spicy Marinade
Ingredients:
2 whole tilapias (about 800g each), cleaned and gutted
For the Marinade:
1/4 cup dried spice mix ( my spice mix is made of dried chillies, dried garlic, dried tomatoes, dried oregano, dried black olives and salt.
1/4 cup white wine vinegar
1/4 cup Dijon mustard
1/4 cup olive oil
Salt to taste
Instructions:
Prepare the Marinade:
In a small bowl add the dried spice mix
Add the white wine vinegar, Dijon mustard, and olive oil to the bowl. Stir well to create a smooth marinade.
Marinate the Fish:
Place the cleaned whole tilapias in a large dish or bowl.
Pour the marinade over the fish, making sure to coat both the inside and outside evenly.
Gently massage the marinade into the fish, making sure the flavors soak into every part.
Let the fish marinate for at least 15-20 minutes (you can also marinate it longer for deeper flavor).
Preheat the Oven:
Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).
Bake the Fish:
Place the marinated tilapia on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or foil.
Bake for 30-40 minutes, or until the fish is fully cooked and flakes easily with a fork.
Halfway through the baking time, carefully flip the fish to ensure even cooking on both sides.
Serve:
Once done, remove the tilapia from the oven and let it rest for a few minutes.
Serve with your favorite sides and enjoy!
