To all burgundy lovers: Which wine would you pick if you could pick one and why?
I went to a wine shop the other day and wondered what you, who are more experienced when it comes to Burgundy would pick up from this selection. Swipe to view the other offers. Which one would you pick?

For the price point I’d eye that Mongeard-Mugneret Fixin.

Pick David Duband HCDN cheapest option — very strawberry forward earthy stuff with serious acidity. Very fresh.

Duband Nuits Les proces (115).
As always with Burgundy they’re overpriced though

Meo Camuzet au dessus de tout.

What’s the vintage on the Clos des Ducs? That’s hands down the best bottle on the shelves. If I’m spending my own money then it’s the Billaud-Simon MdT. Mongeard-Mugneret Fixin is a great price from and American perspective (same with the B-S MdT). Quite a bit of “meh” stuff on these shelves as well tho.

Haven’t had any of these but for the money I’m trying Domaine de Villaine Bouzeron. I have had pretty good experiences with Vincent Girardin as well.

Clos des Mouches from Drouhin. There’s classics and there are staples, Clos des Mouches is the staple. If you want to compare, Clos des Mouches is the benchmark

You have to look hard to spot it. At the bottom right of picture 1 is a Faiveley Corton Grand Cru for 195. This is probably the winner.
For OP: grand cru > premier cru > villages
BeauneBeaune
Tricky question really: what’s the budget? Is it for the cellar or immediate consumption? What food should it accompany?
skalpelis
Faiveley Meursault Premier Cru was the first proper expensive wine I bought like ever, so I may go for it for the purely sentimental aspect. It did cost about €40 or so back then however.

I find myself seeing too much of those wines in my own cellar 🤣

I have a soft spot for Mersault so I might splurge for that at 265 EUR
