Posted over in RecTec excited but wanted to know what pellets did y’all use on the first cook? I’ve got some Kirkland brand pellets but unsure if they’re good on the first burn in or not. TIA

I honestly just like Pit Boss pellets. I tend to go with Hickory and Apple. Hickory just seems to go good on about anything, while I like apple on chicken and pork. Not a huge smoke flavor, so usually I add a smoke tube to add a bit more
Also generally about the cheapest at Lowe’s at about $19 for a 40lb bag.

I’ve been using kirkland pellets for 2 years now. Can’t beat them for the price and they produce good results. Rumor is they’re made by pit boss.
