Austin / central tx bbq for the most part is not that good. It’s overrated like crazy. And expensive AF. People have simply conditioned themselves to believe that since they eat bbq in central Texas, it has to be good regardless. It’s like they are brainwashed or delusional. There is much better bbq in other parts of Texas that put Austin bbq to shame.

I love this sub, but I hate that everyone always has to put the free (hopefully free) sides like bread, pickles, and onions on the tray to try to fill space. We all know BBQ prices have become absurd, so just own it.

I’d rather drive out to Salt Lick in Round Rock if I’m staying in Austin. Consistently good ribs, pulled pork, sausage, and brisket.
