Omg I have the same one also bought at goodwill!! It works really well for being “old”.

It seems like all slow cookers have the problem of the labels of “low” and “high” being the first to fade away.

My family used that same one, with the strange retro shade of orange-red, for decades. Better than the pea-green one.

I had that one. I loved that one. I get sad thinking about its demise.

Be careful and read up about lead in older crock pots. Not trying to scare anyone, but knowledge is power.

Good old fashioned burn your house down model.

For $15 you can buy a lead test kit. One brand name is First Alert. It has enough testing solution to do 4 tests. They recommend running 4 tests for conclusive results.

Keeping in mind that you only paid $4 for the crockpot, the math on this would appear to favor discarding the crockpot. But that’s up to you. For reference, I recently picked up an older, never used, in the original packing, crockpot off Facebook Marketplace for $10.
