I used to make something similar but with oyster crackers, and they were baked until crispy again… never thought to try it with chili flake as well. They make a great addition to soups.

New name for me but my family in the Midwest make these all the time, just called them Crack Crackers. I bet changing up the pepper flakes used could make some really fun variations though.
