Been a few years since I had a taste of the Liquid Gold. I’ve had a number of other producers in Alsace, with its varying terroir, and I enjoy the producers for what they’re worth. Ostertag is very expressive, and Zind-Humbrecht runs the gamut with its sweet to its austere but balance wines. But no wine in my opinion matches Trimbach Frédéric Emile. Concentrated yet austere with petrol, limestone, and a touch of stone fruit with medium acidity. I have t had this in a few years but it is a lean, muscular monster – not flashy but disciplined and focused.

How does it compare to a Keller Riesling?
Love aged Alsace!
Picked up a 2015 at Costco the other day. Can’t wait to crack it open.
