Long time lurker, first time grilling

  1. We bought a house in May 2024. The buying process started back in January, and from the very first day, I had one thing on my mind: get a grill and start grilling as soon as possible.

However, I quickly realized there were other priorities to tackle first—like fixing leaking toilets, repairing the broken gate opener, dealing with over 100 trees, and sorting out the alarm system. So, I had to put the grill on the backburner.

Now that most of those things are fixed, I finally treated myself! In my country, grilling outside of the summer season isn’t very common, but I just couldn’t wait any longer. I’ve never grilled before, but I believe I’ve watched every YouTube grilling video out there, and I’m an avid upvoter and reader on r/grilling.

I’m pretty happy with the results! I expected it to be much more cumbersome, but as with many things, preparation is key. I’m delighted with the setup and can’t wait for the next grilling weekend.

Looking good man. Nothing like getting back to the simple things in life

  3. There is a primal feeling of satisfaction associated with cooking out of doors over fire…and great satisfaction while eating the results. With that many trees, you might have some dead wood/branches to get rid of. Have you considered making your own charcoal? Many happy cooks in the future.

Looks damn good. What cut of meat was it and was it tender?

Looks good, though. I didn’t realize the finished product would look so much like dinner rolls
