We bought a house in May 2024. The buying process started back in January, and from the very first day, I had one thing on my mind: get a grill and start grilling as soon as possible.
However, I quickly realized there were other priorities to tackle first—like fixing leaking toilets, repairing the broken gate opener, dealing with over 100 trees, and sorting out the alarm system. So, I had to put the grill on the backburner.
Now that most of those things are fixed, I finally treated myself! In my country, grilling outside of the summer season isn’t very common, but I just couldn’t wait any longer. I’ve never grilled before, but I believe I’ve watched every YouTube grilling video out there, and I’m an avid upvoter and reader on r/grilling.
I’m pretty happy with the results! I expected it to be much more cumbersome, but as with many things, preparation is key. I’m delighted with the setup and can’t wait for the next grilling weekend.

There is a primal feeling of satisfaction associated with cooking out of doors over fire…and great satisfaction while eating the results. With that many trees, you might have some dead wood/branches to get rid of. Have you considered making your own charcoal? Many happy cooks in the future.

Looks good, though. I didn’t realize the finished product would look so much like dinner rolls
