This was opened and drank about ten-15 years back at the owner of Palm Bay imports home (passed away).
There were executives from Palm Bay and a few other wine industry pros. They had champagne from the 90’s as well.
Also have some early 70’s shaeffers we opened
We did not decant these wines even though their corks disintegrated upon opening. I went in along the bottle glass with my wine key to extract the corks and we poured it glass by glass through a mesh sieve.
Ethereal was the synopsis of experience

Question from someone who’s never sniffed a wine this old. At what vintage would it be considered past its prime?
corgilover999
Birth year dream wine.

I had the 89 a few years ago and it was absolutely insane. Had that old world scent that you just can’t replicate.
Unless you’re super loaded and can afford these regularly, they are nothing short of an experience!
