For any snobs here that live in LA or have visited, can you help me find a commercially available alternative salsa to Taco Nazo’s Signature salsa? I moved out of LA a few years ago and miss Taco Nazo, but particularly miss their salsa so much. Just looking for something that tastes similar! TIA!

    Not sure you’ll be able to find a commercially available alternative, but i’ve had that salsa before and can give a rough try at a recipe… I think it’s made with tomatillos, onion, probably garlic, and chile de arbol.

    Maybe something like this?

    * 10 tomatillos
    * 1/8 white onion
    * 2 cloves garlic
    * Chiles de árbol (adjust to your spice preference)
    * Salt to taste

    Roast the Tomatillos: Roast them until they turn a nice shade of brown, get charred on all sides, and soften up.

    Prepare the Other Ingredients: While the tomatillos are roasting, roughly chop the white onion and peel the garlic cloves.

    Blend: In a blender, combine the roasted tomatillos, chopped onion, garlic cloves, and chiles de árbol. Blend until you get a smooth consistency.

    Add salt to taste and blend briefly to mix it in.

    Love this salsa and you’re right it’s perfect for allot of things.
    On another note do you remember their cucumber chile powder side that was amazing and I ca t figure out how to make that. Diced cucumbers, maybe vinegar and some type of dried chile powder.
