Mediocrity replaced by more expensive mediocrity

This sucks. The staff at BPG was amazing. I hope they all land well.
We definitely don’t need a Jean Georges there.

I always loved BPG for the ambiance.

Another place to be “[Vongerichtified](http://vanishingnewyork.blogspot.com/2008/03/beatrice-vongerichtified.html)” — “a restaurant that have shifted their cuisine, their ambience, and their prices in this high-end direction. sociologically this is quite interesting characterizing a neighborhood in terms of its restaurants. usually a neighborhood restaurant carries a kind of ‘gemeinschaftlich’ (communal) sense. a restaurant in a ‘Vongerichtified’ neighborhood does not appear to carry such a sense.”
This sucks. And it’s too big a spot for a high-end restaurant that relies on tourism traffic so much.

Last time I ate there it was awful. I find JGV restaurants to be reliably good.

Is there anything people can do about it? Beyond the employees, there’s many people in our community that rely on BPG as one of the few outdoor dining options left in the city.
