Every time someone compliments my cooking, I tell them I had to grit my teeth through a lot of shit meals to get here.

Great effort. Take note of the improvements you can make for next time. It’s only gonna get better!

Hey boss: I turn 50 in six days (ack). When I was 17, I had no interest in baking, cooking, or making any kind of food on my own. Six years ago, life circumstances demanded that I learn — and I had *no* idea what I’d been missing. Keep going, my friend. If you can do this at 17, you’ll want for very little when you’re older. I promise. Keep kicking ass!

63 here…. I’ve messed up so many bakes over the decades. We all start as 1st timers. You will get to where this is muscle memory and mistakes will be few….. Keep up the good work!

Well done! Pic 3 indicates much deliciousness!!

Elaine Boddy has a great website. Ms Boddy starts with a cold oven (using a casserole, cast iron, or enamel roasting dish with lid to bake the dough!), and she changed my life haha!

I love Emily Raffa (AKA the Clever Carrot) too!

    You are now hooked!

I hope the mods institute a “no age in title or post description” rule
