I’ve got a bunch of seedlings still in my seeding trays, weeks away from transplanting. Would this be a good combo and should I go ahead and incorporate, wait for transplant?

I’m just a simple pepper farmer and don’t know much But what you’ve selected seems to be too strong for babies

Using this stuff a couple weeks after transplanting, will really ramp up your healthy root production. Ideally you’d use it for a short period while transitioning to a higher nitrogen fertilizer

I could be completely wrong tho

You may even want to dilute this stuff to half potency just to see how the plants react first

  2. If they’re in trays with a mix of some kind already I’d just wait and transplant in 2 or 3” pots next.

Also the seed potting mix is just potting mix that has been filtered of the big pieces of wood and other things which you can do yourself if you have the space. Just make a screen filter with pieces of wood and some hardware cloth/screening. If you’re in a space where you can’t, then carry on n

I haven’t used it but heard that fish fertilizer stinks really bad. Not recommended to use indoors. But yes feed your seedlings with something

No absolutely not!! I did this a few years ago. I mixed some fish fertilizer in some water and added it to my seed trays and the trays were on a heating mat under grow lights. The seedling already had true leaves and were doing well. I later came home from work to find the whole house smelling like dead fish. My big mistake was using it in combination with the heat mat which filled the air with the stink of cooked shit. I dumped all the water and teplacemed with fresh water. A few days later I noticed nutrient burn. The plants did recover but I’ve just used some miracle grow since.

I’d dump the miracle grow and use something organic like coconut coir. I never use chemicals on my peppers.

I personally wouldn’t buy Miracle Gro soil and if you do make sure to sterilize it by running boiling water through it, every single bag I bought was infested with fungus gnats.

I wouldn’t as a seed starter for anything. That’s a lot of nitrogen that’s not needed for germination and early sprout.

Many people shy away from organic fertilizers for seed starting, because it is not immediately available to the plants.

Organic fertilizers must be broken down in order for the plant to use it. In order do it to be broken down, you need soil biology. In an inert, soilless, sterile mix, there’s nothing to break down the fertilizer.

Don’t use any fertilizer when starting seeds. Turns to mold. Use a seed starting mix

The seed starting soil is good to go, but for fertilizing wait until the plants are a little more mature… like 2nd or 3rd set of true leaves.

As others have mentioned this fish stuff is stinky, but if you’re careful it’ll be fine if it’s what you have. However I would dilute it down to ~25% the recommended dose and work your way up to 50%, 75%, etc over the course of a couple months. Even if you use the neptunes harvest 2-3-1 you’d still want to half the dose at first.
