My in laws sent us home with enough tamales to feed a small town, they were made today/yesterday! The husk on the first one I opened has little black spots in the middle, and near the bottom. Is it mold? They’re delicious but I’m immunocompromised so I can’t risk it ( even though I ate it already 😂 they’re just too good) I opened a sweet one and it was fine, but just curious if it’s actually mold. I figured if the husks weren’t dried all the way then stacked and stored it could happen, because the filling was fresh. Photos attached.
