Ever since they demoted him to Major Mills, he just doesn’t seem to be as excited about coming up with new breakfast cereals. 🫤

I do this… but I use evaporated milk. And so much salt. It’s delicious.

    Milk + butter + salt + pepper + pasta

    Or

Butter + tomato juice + salt + pepper + pasta

Did not know either of these were weird until I became an adult.

Put the milk in first. Heat it up untill the foam starts to form, then immediately set to the smallest flame and stir the foam away. Add pasta, 6 table spoons of sugar, quarter tea soon of salt. Keep stirring for 5 mins. Put the flame out and stir for 10 more mins. Scoop out the gross milky skum as it forms on the surface. Voila – a delicious milk soup, just like grann used to make

I’m not sure what this is, but grandma (and mom when things were tough) used to “macaroni gruel” as a Quick snack when I was kid. You cook some pasta in milk until it’s overcooked and the milk starts to thicken. Plate it up and add a knob of butter and sprinkle some sugar on top. It’s not fancy, but struggle meals rarely are. I sometimes cook it myself for some [bad old days](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Early_1990s_depression_in_Finland) nostalgia.
