KANSAS CITY, Mo. — On Wednesday, the 48th annual Senior Citizens’ Christmas Day Dinner will be held at three locations in the Kansas City metro.

The event started in 1977 and has grown from 35 guests to 800, with volunteers even delivering meals for those that are home bound.

The dinner is for all seniors 60 and over unable to be with family or friends on Christmas day.

The dinner is from noon until 2 p.m. at the following locations:

St. Peter’s Elementary School, 6400 Charlotte, Kansas City, Missouri

Solid Rock Bible Church, 2501 NE 39th St. (Parvin Rd.), Kansas City, Missouri

Christ United Methodist Church, 14506 E. 39th St. South, Independence, Missouri
