Intriguing. Do you prep, season, bag, and it all goes in one pot? How long is cook time approximately?

Make sure to do some burritos or something you can eat one handed.

One thing I wanted to do while waiting for our first child to be born was to prep a bunch of meals in advance to have one less thing to worry about while we’re sleep-deprived and worrying more about our baby than ourselves. So my girlfriend and I spent a few days last week (was just too lazy to post until now) prepping all these.
Pic 6 is just chicken drumsticks marinating in Walkerswood jerk marinade.
Pic 7 is the only thing we fully cooked and it’s just green lentils with rice, sauteed onions, oil, salt and pepper (otherwise known as Lebanese Mujadara (IYKYK!))

Looks good, I hope to get to this level someday

pro tip. Cooked mushrooms hold up really well in the freezer for a couple months. raw mushrooms do not

This looks amazing! We were looking to do something similar…but then bubs came a month early, so thank goodness for DoorDash. lol
Congratulations!

You put *a lot* more faith into the integrity of those zip seal bags than I do. 😅
Congratulations btw!

Nice! I intend to do the same for the second.

Do you only make one of each?

Congratulations- on the baby to come and the great food prep! If you have some extra time maybe breakfast prep burritos or egg muffins; they hold up very well. If you plan to breastfeed it’ll come handy in the mornings when one is running on fumes from less sleep and hunger from nursing often. If you plan to not breastfeed it’ll still come handy in the mornings, so win-win either way!

Great job! I did some of this with my first: had a lasagna, chili, some soups ready to go. Our ‘village’ was also super generous and brought us a bunch of yummy (and also not so yummy lol) stuff.
The first week is not so bad. But sleep deprivation compounds. I think weeks 2-3 are the worst. My husband and I found some sanity in breaking the night into four 3 hour shifts, each of us alternating. We have a guest room we used but if not use your couch. It makes zero sense to have two completely sleep deprived parents. It gets better and better though! They say you’re not supposed to sleep train before four months but I didn’t know that and started at 6 weeks 🤫 and our now two year old has been a solid 7pm-7am sleeper ever since (she’d still wake up for one feed around 3 for a while though). Enjoy those newborn snuggles though, they’re so fleeting and there’s nothing like them. Congrats and best of luck!

Great job! What a wonderful present for your future self. You’ll be so happy to have food already made when you’re busy with a new born 🥳

Did something similar when my kid was going to be born. It helps a lot IMO.
Question though, I cooked everything first, and they weren’t slow cooker meals anyway so I suppose I had no choice but, is there a reason not to cook it first or cook it after?

Muffins are a great option as well for postpartum! I’m 8 weeks postpartum and the freezer meals have been amazing and the muffins are life changing when I was breastfeeding in bed for hours on end.

The first five come from [this post](https://www.reddit.com/r/MealPrepSunday/comments/o96uk7/15_freezer_meals_with_some_variety_for_when_you/) that I saved years ago. There’s a little variation with one or two of them but nothing major.

Why is everything raw?
What’s the bag combo for? How do you cook it?
