My dad wanted me to quit my job bc I hated it. I told him I made more money bc the job sucked and that’s why I was willing to do it. He said, “you’ll make more money if you find something you love”. He passed away a while ago. Then I followed his advice. I can’t even explain how right he was.

I love life! Using that first half to support you to get to that second half which is way more about yourself than the first half.
Most of us were mistaken as to what job would make us happy to work and had no understanding where money fits into that. Very few of us get to do what you are doing! I’m only kinda doing it (went from one rat race to another), but life rocks!

Good for you. We so often forget ourselves trying to make money or ends meet that we forget our happiness and passions. I wish I could do that also but I wouldn’t make much money I would eat a lot of my profit lol

Thanks folks. Tittle went kind of wrong 😂 – I havent dropped – am looking for people that did it and looking to learn from their stories. Life is beautiful and complex and unfortunately money plays a relevant role into creating some sort of basic comfort.. yet, I couldn’t be more unhappy doing power points .. and when I look to my seniors I really wouldn’t want to have their life so.. my thinking is slowly try experience more ‘real life sushi work’ here in London till being in a place where I feel confident in maybe making a move.. lets see 😅😃

Hey OP, have you looked into trying to do a pop-up omakase for friends/family or finding a platform to get strangers to sign up? Could be a good way to get feedback/ease into the idea.

As a thought exercise, how much is happiness/fulfillment/whatever worth to you? Five grand? Fifty? A hundred and fifty? That much less salary as compared to your current job is your estimated ’screw it, let’s do it’ starting point
