Made myself a treat for my 29th. Haven't made a steak in years and first time cooking in a stainless steel pan. Was aiming for medium and I think I did a good job!

1 pound ribeye dry brined for 20 hours and then seared and butter basted with garlic, shallots, and thyme.

Lemon zest and walnut roasted broccolini. Herb and garlic smashed potatoes.

Bonus dessert picture.

Been creeping this subreddit for a month preparing for this meal. Shoutout to u/recipeswithjay for the ribeye in a stainless steel pan video which I watched probably 20 times.

Good job buddy, 29 here as well. Always going to be older folks who tell us we have nothing to worry about and that we are young and that’s what grounds me in the present to enjoy it fully. great sear as well!

    Well done sir! Happy birthday.

Maybe give Wild Turkey a try for an inexpensive rye heavy bourbon that’s still solid. My personal favorite in that price range.
