Saw this on Facebook marketplace months ago, picked it up but have been holding off cleaning it up this winter.. now it’s just been sitting here and I’m having doubts. I just hate throwing shit out.

Anything is refurbishable with enough money. If you have the materials, skills and want a fun project why not? But it’s not worth much.

No. You’re going to spend more time and money than it’s worth.

I got one for free over the summer in roughly the same condition. I started to refurbish. However, the juice isn’t worth the squeeze. Save yourself the money, trouble, and frustration.

Just scrap it out and make about $12

  4. Looks like it would need a good sand blasting, then primer and hi heat paint.

  5. I have this same one lol. It’s a heavy mf’. I wish I would’ve bought the cover sooner, it has started showing signs of rust, but nothing as bad as this. It’s excellent, but don’t think this one is worth it.

Make sure the burners are working before you do anything because if they are not, you can’t replace them, that’s not a Weber brand if it was, you could,, but a brand named Joe. I never heard of, and I used to sell barbecues at Home Depot.

The cooking grids are too far gone to be worth the effort or even to convert this to charcoal. Recycle center for sure.

  8. Make a trip to South Africa and we’ll show you a proper braai

I wouldn’t have even looked at this if I was a person who hates throwing stuff out. This looks long gone man.

I tried refurbishing a char griller last year and it was a money pit. Always another part needed or another tool i needed to buy.

Naw, get a new one. Heat that thing up and spray cooking oil all over it. Then do it again every once in a while. Basically like seasoning a cast iron pan. It won’t rust to oblivion in a year

Looks like it will fail, even if you put some work into it. Which I wouldn’t. Some things just aren’t worth saving. Like me. *sigh*

It *can* be, but the amount of money you’re gonna spend on it can be used to get something new and good.

Bad for gas, great as a smoker! Gut it out and fill the bottom with charcoal, add some wet or live hickory chunks/twigs for some awesome smoke. I prefer charcoal alone, all that carbon monoxide turns your smoked chicken thighs pink in a good way

Go to the oklahoma joe website. They sell parts and kits for restoration.

Wire brushes and a wire attachments for the grill, some primer and paint. Shouldn’t be that difficult, just time-consuming.

I have the same one, just not in this shape. I do have to replace everything on the propane side and all 4 grates though.

Fi you have an old curved lid like I can see on your grill? Put that in the very bottom. Not too expensive, a quick fix and perfectly functional using briquettes.

  17. Just clean it first with white vinegar and see where it stands

  18. as long as the bottom and sides arnt rusted out

  19. Physical_Middle_6004

Hell yea it is.. you can get the parts from Dicks Sporting goods or online.
