Turkish Milk Cake | Easy Milk Cake Recipe | Trilece | Tres Leches Cake

Ingredients
Sponge:
5 Eggs (room temp)
1 cup sugar (3/4 cup +1/4 cup)
1 tsp vanilla extract
1/3 cup whole milk (room temp)
1 cup plain flour
1 1/2 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp salt

Milk Mixture:
1 cup double cream
2 cups milk
1 tsp vanilla extract
2 tbsp sugar

Whipped Cream
2 cups double cream
1/4 cup sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract

Caramel Sauce
1 cup sugar
2 tbsp butter
1 cup double cream

Method

Start by separating eggs, in a bowl beat the egg yolks with 3/4 cup sugar until pale and fluffy, add vanilla and milk give it a mix then sift in the dry ingredients mix and leave aside.
In a separate bowl beat the egg whites by slowly adding remaining 1/4 cup sugar, beat until stiff peaks, fold the egg whites into the batter mix until combined. Do not over mix.
Pour the batter in a lined baking tray and bake in a preheated oven 25-30min or until a toothpick comes out clean 350f/177C/Gas mark 4.

Let the cake cool, while cooling make the milk mixture by combing all the ingredients in a saucepan and cook until just warm.

Take the baking paper off and flip the cake over and put it back in the same baking tray. Poke wholes and pour all the warm milk mixture cover and let the cake soak up all the milk for few hours or overnight.

Top with whipped cream and add the caramel layer. Cut into slices and enjoy this very delicious cake 😊
