Bought a bunch of Thai bird chilis for a recipe, trying to use the rest of them up.
* Five Thai bird chilis
* Three Roma tomatoes
* A quarter white onion I had lying around
* Couple garlic cloves
* 1/4 blood orange I bought by mistake and needed to use up
Roast everything except the blood orange under the broiler until blackening, combine in a food processor with the juice of the blood orange and a bunch of salt to taste. After tasting, add the fifth Thai bird chili to make it perfect.
Surprisingly good! Like anything with Thai bird chilis, not shy in the “kick” department, but overall a fun salsa.
