  1. can’t tell the scale of these. they look like they’re the size of pillows. which i am okay with.

    Pizza rolls?

    ..

No those are *not* pizza rolls 🙁

  3. Did they go in the oven? Are they made with flour and/or sugar? Don’t see why they wouldn’t count.

Edit: just looked them up to see that they’re fried. So are many donuts.

I mean, did you bake them? (From my understanding beignets are usually fried)

I would think so, given that they need a yeasted dough. You don’t bake them but they’re largely in the same category.

    I had to do a double take, r/baking ???

    This gotta be r/pillows

Dang, now that is the proper amount of powdered sugar!

Princess and the frog made me want beignets so badly but I have no confidence in my frying abilities 😔

While frying isn’t literally baking, donuts still qualify for this sub because they are still pastries and the process of making them is similar to a lot of baked goods, except for the fact you fry them in oil instead of putting them in a hot oven.

I have powdered sugar all over my face and the front of my shirt just from looking at this picture.

(But yes they count and they look delicious)

No, I regret to inform you that these are definitely NOT allowed to be posted under baking and you are now being investigated by the Reddit police. Please send all of these beignets, and any dipping sauces you may have made, directly to me. Mark them Exhibit One and pack carefully so as not to damage the ~~snack~~ evidence.

  12. Let me try one and I’ll let you know my opinion 😉

  13. Oooh, got a recipe OP? I love me a good bowl of beignets

I consider anything with a dough to be “baking”, even if the cooking method is frying. ☺️

I would eat a pillow if it meant I could try one of these

They were on Spring Baking Championship so I’d say yes.

  17. If you were looking for a beignet recipe, you would expect to find it in a baking book.

I am DROOLING! How did you get them to turn out so perfectly?!?! Any tips?
