Received this bottle of Tuffon Hall as a Secret Santa last Xmas. Itβs my first bottle grown in the UK and my first time with the Bacchus varietal. I was skeptical but I have to sayβ¦ quite nice.
Pale gold, medium aroma on the nose. Floral notes. Medium alcohol, high acidity, medium (-) sugars, medium body.
Tastes like elderberry flowers and honeysuckle a little hint of citrus – kiss of lemon – and stone fruits like a underripe peach. Medium finish not unlike the sweetness of tasting honeysuckle nectar that swiftly dissipates off your tongue but with the lasting tartness of the lemon.
Anyway it was fun to try something very new to me. And have an opportunity to share some tasting notes instead of just reading about them.
By the way: how much do you think itβs worth? πππ₯

Cool! Thereβs a place here in B.C. that still produces a bit of Bacchus from old vines (though they ended up grafting a lot of new varietals on to much of the rootstock). I find it pretty darn enjoyable.
Tuffon Hall Amelie is around Β£18/bt.
