I made this a year ago and it turned out amazing. The crust was greasy, crispy and full of flavor. The meat was buttery and melty.

I cooked it the night before because my brother was spending the night and the next day my in-laws were coming by and I figured a 9 pound brisket should be enough to feed 3 people each for two separate meals.

Wrong! My brother ate a good portion in a drunken fridge raid after we went to sleep and left the rest of it (about 2 pounds of thinner ends) uncovered and it got pretty dry. Watch your bros around your bbq!
