I think the inside has started to dry out and the onion was squishy overall.

    No such thing as a bad onion. Do not eat it though.

    If it seems bad, spank it a little. Worst case it turns mushy and you know to throw it out…

    Unfortunately, I would toss this one. If you stewed it, it wouldn’t kill you, but it also would possibly introduce a worse taste than it adds.

  4. You won’t get sick, but it’s dried out, past its prime and will offer no benefit to any food you add it to.

  5. With onions like this, I typically take the parts I can use that seem normal, rinse them, and use them… There looks to be a good layer or two in it.

  6. Dont eat them if squisy or starting to get translucent throughout. Sometimes it’s like that on only one layer and you can peel it off, but if it’s like that throughout, then throw the whole thing.
