I grew up outside of NYC and there was this little family-run Italian restaurant, where my family and I ate weekly. They've long-since closed, but I'm hoping to find the bread they used to serve, or something close to it.
I know they got their bread from a bakery in the city. It was often shiny on top and pillowy soft on the inside. It was small enough that we received a full loaf for a table of 3-4, and the crust could pull away from the interior. The crust wasn't crunchy. Does anyone know of any bakeries that make a bread similar to this?
The picture is the closest thing I was able to find online. Tia!
