This is a MASSIVE bowl don’t be fooled. So filling, I ate it before my labor intensive work and wasn’t hungry for 6 hours! I made this recipe while trying to get enough fiber, fat, and flavor. I don’t recommend cutting out ingredients other than the berries or syrup, because when I do, it doesn’t keep me full as long.
The ingredients are:
-1/3 C or 30g rolled oats
-1tsp or 4g chia seeds
-3/4 cup or 170g 0% fat Greek yogurt
-1/3 or 10g scoop protein powder ( i use Isopure whey which is 25g and 100cals/scoop)
-1tsp peanut butter
-60 ml or 1/4cup sugar free syrup (Log Cabin Sugar free 10cals/2Tbs
-3 strawberries (I like frozen)
-optional cinnamon
instructions:
1.Cook the oats in 2/3 cup water, (i like to put one strawberry in while they cook to turn it pink) either boil until water is mostly cooked off, or microwave 1.5-3 minutes(stir every 30 seconds)
2.Meanwhile oats cook, put chia seeds in a container with 1-2 TBS of water, let chia seeds soak. (Or you can add to oats and cook together)
3. Once oats are cooked, take off heat and add Greek yogurt, protein powder, syrup and mix
4. Top with chopped strawberries, peanut butter, and chia seeds
5. TRY to finish this bowl without feeling stuffed 😉
Reminder: although the peanut butter and chia seeds may seem like extra add ons, or thrown away calories, the fat and fiber from them both help keep you extremely full for longer, so I highly reccomend keeping them in. Also, the sugar free syrup is only 20 calories, however it may seem to sweet for you, and it does not add any nutritional value. For me, I snack much more and crave more foods when I don’t like the taste of what I eat, so this is perfect for me.
*if you don’t have sf syrup, but want some sweetness, you can sub 1tsp of maple syrup without changing the calories
