Mayo usually on salmon nigiri? I love spicy mayo but keep it away from my nigiri. Not sure what these are

Probably Kewpie mayo thinned with some water or vinegar or something. And then the brown is probably some type of sweetened soy sauce like teriyaki

I could be wrong here, I’m not entirely certain that combo is soy sauce/mayo but I think a sauce base don’t each but Japanese mayo is generally Kewpie brand, I prefer it 100% over normal mayo, it’s made with the yolks and apple cider vinegar specifically, makes it so much nicer

We make a miso mayo that looks similar. Does not go on nigiri.

If you get the kewpie mayo, avoid the one made in America, taste really weird with odd ingredients

It’s mayo, condensed milk, and pineapple juice

Kewpie mayo. Look for the one that comes in a plastic bag and really soft squeeze bottle.

That is disgusting. I’ve had sushi in multiple countries in Asia, and certainly lots here in the U.S. and I’ve never seen anything that awful. Whoever prepared that should be in jail.

I don’t know a single restaurant that puts kewpie on unagi.

Kewpie. It’s a mayo with MSG. Explains the “tasty” part. Lol
