I always buy whole chickens—this gives me a carcass that I can use to make a healthy, flavourful stock. Plus, it’s free and tastes so much better than any store-bought stock. But I understand if you’re short on time—then just buy one or two chicken breasts and ready-made real stock.
If buying a whole chicken, you can use the legs for another meal.
