Dandan noodle (担担面) is originally a Chinese noodle dish from Sichuan. Its name referred to it being carried on street vendor’s poles and being sold to passers-by.
It was introduced to Japan later and the local version is called Tantan noodles (担々麺), and is considered to be a form of Chinese soba, or more generally known, Ramen.
This particular dish is from a super small family ran restaurant near where I live. The whole place had 3 staffs: grandma, dad, and the teenager son.
In short, it was the most delicious Tantan noodle I’ve ever had.

Look amazing. I want to eat it now, but sadly it’s a bit of a swim to Japan.
God damn you, now I’m craving it and I don’t even know what it tastes like.
That looks delicious!
