American, had a craving, no quick/easy access to back bacon or proper sausages, made due with what I had.

Good effort, I’d eat it, with butter on the toast.

Commendations. Great job. Just one tip, if butter melts into toast, put on more butter.

Decent effort mate. Those eggs look ready to burst nom nom nom from me

Nah ! Beans are swimming! Not sure what you did to the eggs. Being in America is no excuse.

Good enough for me. I would have no complaints.

Isn’t all American bread considered cake, due to sugar content?

Not bad, but don’t be fooled with this ramekin malarky. This is a hipsterism and not part of a fry

  8. I’ll be straight up, you’re getting the sympathy vote because you’re American. It’s seems us Brits have a lot of time for people from far away places… foreigners, having a go at our cuisine. If you’re in America, I lived there a few years. The beans don’t taste the same. The bacon is streaky and crispy. Sausages taste a bit different. Even the egg, maybe it’s the oil it’s cooked in? The hash brown… it’s interesting how things can look so similar but entirely miss the subtle flavours that make things what they are. So you definitely get a vote for being American and giving it a go and if I was to rate it on looks alone… let me have a proper look.

It could do with another sausage. I find the sausage to bacon ratio is important. It’s like art, I can’t define but I know it when I see it.

The eggs are done in both sides. Each to their own on that, ultimately as long as they are runny in the middle. However, my preference is always to only cook one side and flick the oil over the top side of the egg.

Beans, yeah.. I actually prefer them on the plate and like sausages. A few more maybe?

Toast looks really good (although again I found UK bread to taste very different than USA bead but it looks fab here).

    Tomato’s smashed it.

    Mushrooms/tomato/portion, perfect ratio.

The two hash browns. Entirely over indulgent, love it. Be sure to put a lot of salt on them.

Bacon, add another slice or two and again another sausage.

Tea looks banging (although it could be coffee).

I’d like to think I’m liberal and open minded with many things but with about 50 years experience eating this sort of meal.. I am strict. There are no ifs, buts or I thoughts..…

So.. for Effort, foreign relations, and just because… I’m giving this a solid 7.7.

    That’s pretty much an A.

I would be very happy if I was served that.

This is a good fry up based on limited resources, if you can’t easily get back bacon or proper sausages, you go with the closest thing available. Heinz beans are in the top three favourite in the UK last I heard, but they’re from the USA, so if they taste different anywhere then technically it’s here in the UK. Overall, spot on, and if it didn’t satisfy the craving – just make it again lol

  10. It might be heresy but I’m increasingly of the view that back bacon doesn’t make any sense fried – it doesn’t have enough fat. Streaky all the way these days.

May I ask why America don’t know how to do bacon or sausages?

  12. Bacon doesn’t actually look that bad. Whole breakfast looks lovely

  13. Have had worse in an English cafe. Solid effort.

Wish I hadn’t seen this! Got proper munchies now. Eggs look devine
