    Thanks for the post, OP. It triggered an old memory of my departed mum who used to make dumplings with soup using the leftover turkey at Christmas. I could murder a bowl just now.

    The recipe:

    Two packs of Asda dumpling mix

    Handful of grated extra mature cheddar

    Tbsp dried thyme.

    Mix with water, roll into eight balls, drop on your stew.

    Cook for thirty minutes at 200°C
