So I’ve recently got my first ever cake order from someone other than close friends and family. They asked for a 4 layered 8in strawberry cake with strawberry filling. She sent me inspo pics for a strawberry shortcake theme (pictured below) I just don’t know how much to charge her since I usually sell my cakes pretty low to my friends and family. I was thinking $100 since supplies/ ingredients alone will cost me about $65, is $100 to high? I also added cakes I’ve recently done just so yall can see my work and base it off my skill as well.

  1. I think 100 is totally reasonable if not a little low, but that will also depend on your area. An 100$ cake in LA is not the same as an 100$ cake in rural Alabama.

I don’t know anything about cakes or what they cost but I would expect to pay more than $100 for a cake like the inspo pic.
    You are extremely talented btw

I’ve paid more for cakes the same size and design, so $100 is a steal!

I think that would be more like a 150 dollar cake. Your work os beautiful🤍🤍

    For these cakes?
    Usually up to 200€.

Depends on the quality of your ingredients, your time and experience though.

    OMG! It’s gorgeous!!! I’d happily pay $100.

I’ve paid much more for cakes that weren’t even that ballpark.

  7. Definitely, just make sure you give a quote in writing and get a deposit that covers your ingredients. If you’ve only made cakes for friends and family, the person requesting the cake may not realize how expensive it is going to be

$100 should be the low end of the range IMO, especially if you’re in the DFW region. These are outstanding.

As someone who baked and sold cakes for years.. $100 is way too low for your talent on cakes. Up your prices!
