Buttercream flowers and sugar bees :-)


I make cakes for my friends and I love pushing the limits of buttercream. The standing lavender had to be done in three sections, waiting for the buttercream to become hard and sturdy between each section. I use a simple bulk buttercream recipe which I’ll share here:

4 blocks of softened butter (unsalted)
1/4 cup of vanilla
1/2 cup 2%milk
4 bags of powdered sugar added every 3 minutes in stand mixer

You can cut this recipe in half, but cutting it anymore comes with strange results. This is enough to decorate about 2 detailed 8 inch double layer cakes !
