A tip for the top braids, when braiding don’t touch the tops yet, don’t squish them together or anything. Start braiding a bit after the beginning of the top.
Work your way all the way down, read the end, squish all the braids that are now thin at the end with your palm and tuck them under.
Braid the beginning / top, and again for the end of the top, squish the braids together with your palm and tuck under.
