I can’t help but feel like a store run would have been a better call for two pounds of butter.

Chef keeps getting away with it. SON OF A

Dining director better get to opening those packets

  4. FlowerProofYard

Is it even real butter in those packets?

Never a good sign when your manager makes you do this instead of going on a grocery run.

I’m on instacart w the Amex cause ain’t no gd way lol

I make a run to Aldi or Lidl in that case. Ofc works only if there is any supermarket nearby

  7. I’m just waiting for someone to come from behind and say “mmmyes, you see, we need 2lbs of unsalted and those are…salted”

Go to the grocery store. You’re eating time and money.

  9. I’ve made more butter than that *on accident*. Granted it was supposed to be frosting and OP probably doesn’t want sweet butter.

Chef, I’ve been there. Find the most “cook-savvy FOH body that knows the menu while you smash to the store to grab butter.

Reminds me of the time I grated cheese sticks to make pizza for my kids.

Funny post. Quite resourceful. What the fuck did you need two pounds of butter for?

  13. ikeatings

I’m sure one of you could have just bought two blocks of butter at a grocery store or just sacrificed some heavy cream

The return of the great “forgot to order” wave!

  15. saltybutnotbitter

Go to store better yet send him to the store

    Out. The. Door.

Either someone’s going to the grocery or I’d quit.

    Not doing that.

  17. Joesarcasm

How hard is it to drive to the grocery store or to send someone to get butter.

Who the fk is your manager and why is no one going to the store to get it. You’re literally paying a premium getting it out of those and wasting so much.

  19. Idk about you guys but I feel we’ve all made mistakes in ordering. There’s nothing wrong with buying butter or something retail to svc work ..

Lol y’all must not be near any markets.

One time when I worked fast food, we ran out of salt for the fries. We just started tearing open dozens of salt packets. I felt so pathetic but it was also hilarious

Management clearly does now know the cost by weight of butter in individual packets

  23. Veganberger

Wouldn’t it have been easier to just whip some cream?

Reminds me of a dream I had while back when the only thing to clean a dirty greasy kitchen after close was a pallet of individual lens wipes

My manager did this with sugar packets for the sweet tea when he was new to the gig. Then he realized he could just run to the store and buy a bag of sugar instead
