(Why is posting text and images together so hard??? Grrr)
I had dinner at Aulis in London a couple of weeks ago. It was good. Very good.
Standouts:
Surprise and delight. The texture combinations were one thing that I very much enjoyed. From The very first dish, it was an ongoing combination of textures that seemed fresh and new. Dishes that I expected to grow boring, actually became more interesting as I continued eating with new flavor combinations emerging. So fun!
The atmosphere was intimate and friendly. The staff was welcoming and engaging. The experience of eating on a single table with 11 other people makes it feel like we’re all friends. Several conversations with other diners that I enjoyed very much (especially as I was there solo).
Lowlights:
Just one thing really: I ended the meal still hungry. Happy, but hungry.

One thing that I found curious is the similarities with the dishes served at L`Enclume (another Simon Rogan restaurant) that you can see in [this post](https://www.reddit.com/r/finedining/comments/1hne9h8/lenclume_uk_22122024/). Several dishes seem to be repeating like the truffled bread pudding, the cod, and the mousse shaped like the logo. Is this common?
