I know a lot of people find Thanksgiving turkey boring. These days, many prefer ham, salmon or lasagna instead. To be honest, it all makes me kind of sad. That’s because I truly love turkey. I eat turkey sandwiches at least three days a week. If I scan a diner menu and find an open-faced turkey sandwich on it, well then, “Waitress, I’m ready to order!”

When it comes to Thanksgiving turkey sandwiches, this panini at the BonBonerie cafe is the best one I’ve tried this year. It’s amazing how many holiday favorites they pack into this creamy, crunchy sandwich, including sweet potatoes, green beans, a cranberry rosemary aioli and apricot and onion goat cheese.

I might try to recreate one at home with my leftovers this Friday. Either way, I’ll be back at the BonBonerie giving thanks to this sandwich at least a few more times before it’s discontinued at the end of the year.
