I was driving home the other day and saw what looked to be a perfectly good grill on the curb. I asked the owner of the house if anything was wrong with it and they mentioned just doesn’t light. I’m pretty handy and figured I could fix that so I took it home and all it was, was the hot rod was disconnected! Everything else seems to be in working order I dumped all the old pellets (some of which were expanded) but checked and saw the blower was working and the auger works. Anything else I should check before doing a deep clean and try cooking?

Hey! It looks like you posted an image!

    *What seasoning did you use?

*How long did you cook it, and at what temperature?

*Did you use any special tricks or techniques?

    Traeger on!

Glow Rod is probably shot. On those older models they have a different rod then what’s for sale now.

I’m in the same boat with my old Traeger—had to make an emergency new grill purchase right before Thanksgiving because Traeger sent me the wrong glow rod.

About to put my old one on the curb with a sign.

I did the same thing. Got an old Traeger and fixed it up.

I went a head and also got a new controller with super smoke and built in probes also and replaced the main probe too. I also replaced my fans as they were missing fan blades. Next is to clean it all up and put the door gaskets on it.

    It works amazing for free.

That is how I got my “free-BQ” – stuck augur due to letting pellets get wet.
