Everything, from the beef carpaccio to the marinated chicken to the ice cream to the BREAD was succulent, rich, and bursting with flavor. Most people believe restaurant week isn’t worth it anymore, and justifiably so – but it’s hard to imagine you’re going to find better cooking for $60. I also really dug the atmosphere: it proudly featured various tributes to hip hop but it never felt like it clashed with the sophisticated ambiance of the place. I’ll definitely be back again if they do another restaurant week menu. Gramercy Tavern up next!

  1. Did the toast trigger the fire alarm when it came out of the toaster?

I knew the chef and am sad he passed. I hate this restaurant. Beautiful inside. Cool cocktails. Horrendous price point and completely confused concept.

That said, that looks like a good deal for whatever the restaurant week price would be.

RIP James Kent. Stand up guy. Great shoe collection. Absolutely bad ass chef.

this restaurant has absolutely no sense of itself, unfortunately

Crown Shy was my worst restaurant experience ever. Tiny portions, disinterested service, and suspiciously overcharged my credit card.

Man, I really wanted to like Crown Shy but the service was really weird and the food was lackluster. I thought the pork katsu was good but everything else didn’t feel cohesive as a dish.

That bread should have been put in the garbage, it’s burnt to the point of being incredibly carcinogenic.

I hope you really didn’t eat it. lol.

  8. That is my Favorite dessert of all time. The toasted marshmallow, orange crunchy honey

Oh dear, I thought that “bread” was chocolate bark and was wondering why it was being served with beef carpaccio

I enjoyed my Restaurant Week meal at Crown Shy, I sat at the bar and received excellent service. They were really nice, the chef made a tiny cheese plate for me off menu for dessert. I had a 1995 Sauturnes with the cheese plate, so yeah, I saved a lot of money at restaurant week. lol
