The site, located off Route 309, previously housed other dining establishments, including La Cucina Italian Restaurant, Chianti and Vivo Italian Kitchen, with the latter closing in 2023.
“Come and experience the vibrant flavors of authentic Mexican cuisine and the most delicious tequila cocktails,” an announcement on My Tequila House’s social media pages reads.
“From sizzling tacos to refreshing drinks, every visit will feel like a true Mexican fiesta. Enjoy live music that will make your dining experience even more special.”
The new Mexican restaurant will supplement My Tequila House’s original location, which owner Alejandro Ramirez opened in 2010 at a former Pizza Hut building at 1808 MacArthur Road in Whitehall Township.
Business has been good in Whitehall, and Ramirez saw an opportunity to expand operations with an additional location.
“We’re really excited,” Ramirez told 69 News. “We saw an opportunity to serve more individuals with another restaurant. It’s a great location with great visibility.”

Ramirez purchased the property last year and has been updating it with new wall paint, light fixtures, kitchen equipment and other upgrades over the past several months.
New decorative touches include vibrant Day of the Dead artwork and faux greenery on the walls.
The new location will feature My Tequila House’s full menu, Ramirez said.
Customers can enjoy a variety of tacos, available in your choice of four corn tortillas or three flour tortillas, such as tropical tacos (grilled steak, roasted pineapple, onions and finished with jalapenos or green peppers; served with cilantro, green house sauce and black or refried beans) and tacos gobernador (cut shrimp, roasted poblano peppers, sauteed onions and melted Chihuahua cheese; served with black or refried beans, pico de gallo and guacamole).
“We have some really great platters of tacos, like our ribeye tacos,” Ramirez said. “People really love them.”
More than a dozen main courses, fajitas and specialties include selections such as carne asada, shrimp chimichanga, ribeye and chile relleno with shrimp, various fajitas (chicken, salmon, shrimp or vegetable) and molcajete surf and turf (grilled skirt steak, grilled shrimp, Mexican chorizo, grilled chicken breast, Chihuahua cheese and cilantro, mixed in a Mexican red sauce and served in a molcajete, accompanied by Mexican rice, black beans or refried beans and four corn tortillas or three flour tortillas).

The new My Tequila House location in South Whitehall will feature dining rooms on two floors, an outdoor dining patio and a full bar.
My Tequila House customers can choose from a wide array of beers, wines and classic and signature cocktails, including palomas, pina coladas and mojitos such as mango, cucumber and coconut pineapple.
Nearly 30 margaritas include on-the-rocks selections such as desert pear, habanero lime, pomegranate, watermelon and wild berries ginger; and frozen options such as hibiscus, passion fruit, peach, tamarind and strawberry.
There are also roughly 50 kinds of tequilas, including various silver, reposado and extra anejo varieties.
“Our margaritas are also really great,” Ramirez said. “That’s what we’re known for.”

My Tequila House has a goal of celebrating Mexican culture, flavor and tradition.
“Our journey began with a vision to offer an authentic taste of Mexico, showcasing the richness and diversity of its culinary heritage,” a message on the restaurant’s website reads.
“But it’s not just about the food – it’s about the atmosphere, the warmth of our hospitality, and the joy of sharing a meal with friends and family. Whether you’re here for a casual lunch, a romantic dinner, or a festive celebration, our welcoming ambiance and attentive staff ensure that every visit is a memorable one.”
Like the Whitehall restaurant, the second My Tequila House location will feature live music on the weekends, Ramirez said.
It also will have the same hours as the Whitehall restaurant: noon to 9 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and noon to 10 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays.
