This was a leftover bottle from a wine dinner the night before so I decided it would go great with a burger.
The 2013 Harlan Estate was beautifully balanced, with a full yet refined body. It had well-integrated tannins and delivered rich notes of blackberry and chocolate without veering into jamminess, followed by an exceptionally long finish. Compared to other young California Cabernets, it showed remarkable finesse. Though still in the early phase of its drinking window, the alcohol was noticeably present, but that should integrate further with age. Even after 24 hours, it maintained its complexity and elegance, highlighting its extraordinary aging potential. The burger was good too!

Sideways end scene ahh moment
Is that a Five Guys burger??
I love this
Love Harlan! Did you leave the bottle open for 24 hours?
Amazing, very nice combo. The wine glass tho!
This is pure madness and I’m here for every single bit of it.
Exquisite pairing
Sometimes you just need something that tastes nice and not to overcomplicate your pairing. I say hell yeah
I don’t think this is weird at all.
Burgundy and burgers are a go to in my house. Weekly!
Only perfect.
Fuck it, go for it man.
I support this pairing.
Perfection!
I often eat pizze Margherita with big bottles. Letting the wine speak against a cheese & tomato bread simply makes sense.
