You just gotta breathe through the pain until you can set it down

Had happened to me a few times yes. You just though it out until you can put down whatever you’re holding… 😛

Sometimes I like to warm my fingers up a little before I have to handle something really hot, like hold them near the grill for a sec just to let them know what’s coming.

We don’t have any oven mits anymore so now I just grab stuff out of the oven with my bare hands. I love the sizzle sound it makes.

    No prints= less forensic evidence

    I’m thinking long term.

Yall ever grab a hot pan with wet hands – and have the wet boil away as you do?

Wild feeling. More shocking than painful thanks to the water. Hope ya let go quick though.

  7. I just always expect everything to be hot. Then this doesn’t have to happen.

My chef did this the other night with a cast iron pan handle when plating, fresh out of the oven.. just grabs the handle and plates it. Chef superpowers I guess.

I was putting a pan away after breakfast this morning and it was still hot from the stovetop (just needed a rinse) and I’m thinking is this too hot to put away and realized I’m testing that with my hand.

It’s not about grabbing something too hot – It’s whether you can get from point A to point B without involuntarily letting go.

  11. I miss my runner’s hands and having purple fingers and not feeling hot.

Then you pick up something hot in front of a civilian and they think you have super powers.

    …. nope, just nerve damage.

Grabbed a deep 6 off the steak searing side of the flattop during NYE service lol. Can’t do anything but breathe through it

Just squirm them around. Can’t burn your fingers if you’re only using three at a time.
